I made a full recovery from post-concussion syndrome

And I am here to help you recover so much faster than I did.

Post-concussion syndrome recovery help
Melanie Wienhoven

Hi, I'm Melanie

I’ve become quite the post-concussion syndrome specialist, because it took me more than 6 years to recover from post-concussion syndrome.

During my recovery, I have felt lost and alone and I didn’t know who to turn to or what to do anymore.

I don’t want you to feel this way.

I want you to know that full recovery is possible: I am living proof. I feel better, sharper and fitter than ever before!

I will help you recover from
post-concussion syndrome

How I know what (not) to do? Because I spent more than 6 years figuring out the keys to recovery. I can never describe the amount of hours, sweat and tears that went into it.

But in the end, I cracked the code and I cured a concussion that doctors declared “incurable”

I don’t want you to feel lost in the medical world because post-concussion protocols are lacking. And I don’t want you to feel as alone as I did because others can’t see nor fully understand your invisible injury.

That is why I created this entire website and the Cure My Concussion course for you.

I want you to have the tools I wish I had before, so that you can reclaim the life you want to live.

I came across Lifeyana at the time when I was experiencing one of the lowest points in my recovery journey. The course has empowered me to continue on my journey with strength and at the same time taught me to be kind myself and listen to my body better. I wish I had known all the things I learnt in the course earlier.

Three steps forward and two back, would I ever recover? When could I enjoy life again, without retaliation the next day? I’m so grateful that Melanie helped me when I felt so overwhelmed and alone. She guided me through the process that she knew so well, and her wise lessons really helped me: I have finally recovered.

The course really changed my mindset: I no longer continue doing things that aren’t working. Also, it means so much to be able to talk to Mel! It really means a lot to me that I know she totally gets how I am feeling. Because even though I know others try – they just can’t completely understand. The little things (like getting Mel’s messages) make me feel like she is really rooting for me.

Post-concussion recovery is possible!

Improvement and restoration of function are possible, says Emeritus Professor Andrew Maas. He is Coordinator of the largest study on traumatic brain injury ever done. Also, he has been neurosurgeon for the largest part of his career. So he knows the brain. Trust me that you want to hear what he has to say in this short highlight video of my conversation with him!

How long does it take to recover from a concussion

Post-concussion syndrome can take some time to heal

According to research, you suffer from post-concussion syndrome if you continue to experience concussion symptoms for longer than 3 months after injury.

There isn’t a biological switch: you don’t feel any different than before when a doctor diagnoses your concussion syndrome. It’s actually the same concussion that’s taking longer to heal.

“Longer than what?” you might wonder. Good question! It has long been the standard that a concussion should heal within 2 weeks. If you didn’t recover within that time frame, you were one of the unlucky ones.

WRONG! The largest study on traumatic brain injury ever done has now uncovered that about 67% of concussion patients still experience symptoms at 6 months after injury.

So, if you experience post-concussion symptoms: you are not weird for feeling this way! It’s more normal than most doctors are aware of and are able communicate with you.

The Concussion Stories podcast

3 concussion recovery tips

If I could go back in time, I would tell myself 3 things that would have majorly reduced my recovery time:

Concussion recovery tips

1. Don’t wait-and-see how your symptoms develop like doctors tell you to do. A brain injury needs active recovery as soon as possible. Adopt an active approach to recovery right now: start with this guide I made for you.

2. Don’t get paralyzed by the “syndrome” part of it. Recovery is possible as long as you work for it and work on the right things (I’ll help you with that.) Listen to the Coordinator of the largest study on traumatic brain injury explaining how the brain is capable of recovery after injury.

3. Don’t wait for medical professionals to jump in and heal you. Most of them don’t know what to do with you. Healing from post-concussion sydnrome requires you to take the lead. I know it feels overwhelming right now. Trust me: you’ll feel so much better once you follow the steps I laid out for you. I’ll guide you through everyting.
